It is the website of the Congress of Democratic Uzbekistan (chairman Jahongir Mamatov, who is now living in the USA). “The Congress of Democratic Uzbekistan (CDU) is an international organization that unites hundreds democratic activists in Uzbekistan and has thousands of its supporters inside the country, and many of its members in the USA and Europe. It is struggling for a free and democratic Uzbekistan and against the tyranny by disposing the true face of the totalitarian regime,” the home-page of the website says. The website carries items in the Uzbek and Russian languages. It has been blocked in Uzbekistan. The following are examples of its headlines: “On the court trial of Umarov and some information about his lawyer Krasilovskiy”, “Punitive psychotherapy”, “To get out of feudalism”, “Secrets of Islom Karimov’s empire” and “Black phantom of Gulnora”.

Turonzamin (https://uzbekcongress.wordpress.com)

Turon Zamin (the Euarasia ) is the website  of the  Congress of Democratic Uzbekistan (chairman Jahongir Mamatov). Its items are published in several languages, including Russian. It has been updated promptly almost every day. The website has been blocked in Uzbekistan. The following are examples of its headlines: “What does the return of labour migrants to Uzbekistan mean?”, “The head of state’s term in office expires on 21 January 2007”, “The absence of freedom of speech and the situation in Uzbekistan” and “Karimov and Madaminov are Siamese twins”. The website never misses any protest action irrespective of where it is held – in Uzbekistan. An important advantage of the website is that it gets and publishes information taken from regions of the country where other Internet news agencies do not have their correspondents.

The website of Jahongir Mamatov (http://www.jahongir.org)

This is the personal web page of the chairman of the opposition Congress of Democratic Forces of Uzbekistan, Jahongir Mamatov. Its items are available in Russian, Uzbek, English and Turkish. The website has been blocked in Uzbekistan. The following are examples of headlines of publications posted on the website: “When will the repressive regime of Karimov end?”, “Uzbekistan is a country where journalism is considered terrorism”, “Who strangles freedom of speech at Radio Liberty” and “Bon appetit, cannibals!”.
